Samuel Yates began, and this site continues, a database of the largest known primes. Primes in that database are assigned a proof-code to show who should be credited with the discovery as well as what programs and projects they used. (Discoverers have one prover-entry, but may have many proof-codes because they use a variety of programs...)

Kenneth E. Pedersen, is dedicated to not yet a very usefull science, and is at the moment conducting a valueable primesearch, which may eventually in a decade or so yield some insight on some statistics concerning primes :) So please croos your fingers, and let me and my computer do the investigative action, in which those non-primes being held hostage by the primes, can be found and released :) Anyway good luck to all of you, and I hope to see you all very soon on this list :)
