The first permanent English settlement in the New World took
place in 1607 on Jamestown Island, Virginia.
The largest known prime number that is not the sum of three
perfect powers greater than one. By deleting the digit
zero, we obtain a prime number with the same property. [Capelle]
Klaus Barner, Professor Emeritus of the University of
Kassel, Germany, has discovered that Pierre de Fermat was
probably born in 1607.
