Sergio Zarantonello has a Ph.D. in mathematics from the University of Wisconsin. He is a marketing manager at Silicon Graphics and also a member of the adjunct faculty at Santa Clara University, where he teaches courses on Fourier analysis, and on the theory and applications of wavelets. Sergio was one of the Amdahl Six who in 1989 dicovered what was then the largest known prime number, one of the reare times this record was held by a non-Mersenne prime.
