A native of Alaska, Christopher studied aerospace engineering throughout the western United States, has written articles for many aviation publications, including "Air & Space", "AOPA Pilot", "AOPA Flight Training", "General Aviation News", "EAA Sport Aviation", and "Air Line Pilot", as well as co-authored two books on his hobby, aviation archaeology. Christopher has self-developed and taught award-winning high school and FAA-approved curriculum, launched weather balloons and performed micro-gravity experiments with NASA, received numerous accolades as a professional flight instructor, and worked with some of the best and brightest minds in the aviation industry. As a pilot, he has flown to over 150 different airports in 23 states, earned his Airline Transport Pilot (ATP-ASEL) certificate - the highest level of certification attainable from the FAA - and is also certified to fly seaplanes and small unmanned aircraft systems (sUAS, or "drones"). He is a flight instructor, qualified to teach basic and advanced clients in both single- and multi-engine airplanes, as well as those looking to fly in poor weather (called "flying on instruments"). Knowledgeable in nearly all aspects of historic and modern aviation business, he also has consulted on numerous aviation startup businesses and projects. He is a life member of the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA), Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA), National Aeronautic Association (NAA), National Association of Flight Instructors (NAFI), Society of Aviation and Flight Educators (SAFE), National Eagle Scout Association (NESA), Air Force Association (AFA), Mensa, and California Pilots Association, as well as a full member of the International Society of Air Safety Investigators (ISASI) and Royal Aeronautical Society (RAeS), an Upper Freeman of the Honourable Company of Air Pilots, an Associate Fellow of the Royal Institute of Navigation, and holds a world speed record in aviation, which he set in 2009, as well as the Guinness World Record for the longest 'wheelie' done in an airplane in 2020.
